PULLMAN – Washington State University and head football coach Jake Dickert have agreed to a contract extension that will keep him in Pullman through the 2027 season, WSU Director of Athletics Pat Chun announced Wednesday.
Dickert has been leading the team since being placed in the interim role during the 2021 season following the departure of former coach Nick Rolovich. At the end of that season, the then interim coach signed a five-year contract to keep him with WSU through 2026. That contract has now been extended through 2027.Â
Since taking over, Dickert has posted two straight winning seasons and guided the Cougars to back-to-back bowl appearances.
In 2021, Dickert went 3-2 after assuming the interim role, ultimately landing WSU in the Sun Bowl against the Central Michigan Chippewas.
Then in 2022, Dickert and the Cougars finished 7-6 and went to the LA Bowl against Fresno State.
