PEND OREILLE – WDFW Officer Erickson, a Pend Oreille Detective, and a Border Patrol Agent were dispatched to respond to a report of human remains discovered within a cave. The initial report came from an individual who had stumbled upon the remains while paddle boarding inside a cave along the Pend Oreille River near the Canadian border. To investigate further, Officer Erickson and the Detective utilized jet-skis to reach the cave’s entrance, where they proceeded to swim inside for a closer examination.
Upon closer inspection, it was apparent that what had initially seemed to be a skull at the bottom of the cave was, in fact, a plastic skull beer bong that someone had apparently filled with rocks and submerged to play a prank on unsuspecting individuals. Surprisingly, the ruse had worked exceptionally well, catching the attention of authorities in the process.
