CALDWELL, ID – Detectives with the Caldwell Police Department (CPD) continue to investigate a domestic disturbance that resulted in two men being killed Friday morning. The case is being investigated as a murder, according to the CPD.
At approximately 6:30 a.m. Friday morning, officers responded to Shelburne Street in Caldwell, ID for reports of a stabbing. Upon arriving on scene, officers discovered two males on the floor of the home with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds. According to a press release, one male was deceased, and the other was conscious and breathing at the time.
Officers attempted life saving measures on the second individual, who was eventually transported to Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Boise. Unfortunately the man later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation remains in its preliminary stages. CPD detectives, Canyon County Sheriff’s Office crime lab personnel and investigators from the Canyon County Coroner’s Office are currently processing the scene and gathering further details as to what occurred.
At the time of this writing, police are NOT actively searching for a suspect (s) and witnesses have been cooperative with the investigation. In a press release issued Friday morning, the Caldwell Police said there is no threat to the community at this time and that this was an “isolated domestic related incident.”
The circumstances of the deaths are pending until an autopsy can be completed and the evidence is collected and analyzed. Names of those involved are being withheld, pending notifications to next of kin.
“This is a very tragic incident and I am saddened by the horrific news this morning,” said Caldwell Chief of Police Rex Ingram. “I send my condolences to the family affected by this atrocity and offer any support we can. Our investigators will work around the clock to determine the motive and circumstances surrounding this incident. I want to thank the Canyon County Sheriff for his immediate support and deployment of the crime lab.”
