MOSCOW - Seven Idaho Vandal football players have been recognized with All-Big Sky honors for the 2021 season, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. Idaho placed two on the first team and three on the third team.
On offense, Logan Kendall was a Unanimous first-team selection at fullback. Kendall was a key component in the Vandal running attack that totaled over 2000 yards this fall. He also scored two touchdowns and averaged nearly eight yards a carry in to 2021. This is the second time in 2021 Kendall has earned First-Team All-Big Sky Honors. He was named to the first team in the 2021 spring season.
Running back Roshaun Johnson was named third-team All-Big Sky. Johnson had 91 carries for 444 yards and 10 touchdowns. Offensive lineman Logan Floyd was named to the All-Big Sky Third team. He helped anchor the offensive line that averaged 4.5 yards per carry and totaled over 2000 yards on the ground.
On Defense, middle linebacker Tre Walker earned First-team All-Big Sky defensive honors. Walker led the Vandals with 105 total tackles. He had three tackles for loss, three passes defended and forced a fumble. Walker earned first-team honors for the second time in 2021 also being named first-team in the spring.
Earning third-team All-Big Sky honors is defensive end Charles Akanno. Akanno totaled 44 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, eight quarterback hits, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.
Noah Ellis and Tyrese Dedmon both earned All-Big Sky honorable mention honors. Ellis, a defensive tackle, totaled 46 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and a sack. Dedmon, a defensive back, totaled 59 tackles, six pass breakups, two tackles for loss and an interception.
