LEWISTON - Lewis-Clark State Baseball’s most feared hitter added to his resume on Tuesday by being voted the NAIA National Player of the Week. Brock Ephan had an outstanding weekend at the plate in the four-game sweep of the College of Idaho with four home runs and 11 RBI.
With his four big flies over the weekend, Ephan now has 15 on the season and 30 in his career which puts him ninth on the all-time list. The senior had nine hits (.563) over the weekend with more than half going for extra bases (two doubles and four home runs) for a slugging percentage of 1.438. Ephan walked three times to finish the weekend with a .632 on-base percentage. He also scored nine runs and had a stolen base.
The sixth ranked Warriors are 35-3 on the season and 27-1 in CCC play. They wrap up the regular season on the road at Eastern Oregon with a four-game set. LC State will return home May 8-9 to host the Cascade Conference tournament before turning its attention to the 2021 Avista NAIA World Series in Lewiston.
