Cole Olsen, NAIA Runner of the Week

LEWISTON - On Friday, March 26, Cole Olsen captured the Cascade Conference individual title, and in doing so won his fourth race in four tries this season. The senior helped the Warriors capture the CCC team title and will head to Iowa next week for the 2020 NAIA Cross Country National Championships.

Olsen led for the entirety of the race at the CCC Championships over the weekend. His time if 24:18 bested the second-place runner by 14 seconds and pushed LC State to its first Cascade Conference title and sixth conference title in a row (five in the Frontier). Olsen has won all four cross country races he has competed in this season.

The Warriors, men and women, will race at the national championships on Friday, April 9, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Olsen was an All-American at the race the last two seasons including a fourth-place finish last year. He helped LC State to its best finish in program history at third overall in 2019.

This is the third national weekly honor for Olsen in cross country. He has been named the NAIA Runner of the Week three times, once in each of the last three seasons. As a sophomore he earned the honor in track.
