LEWISTON - After a monster weekend at the plate, LC State Baseball’s Matt James has been voted the Cascade Conference Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Player of the Week. James earned the honor after helping the seventh-ranked Warriors to a four-game sweep of Oregon Tech on the road.

The LC State catcher/designated hitter went a staggering 10-for-15 (.667) this past weekend and reached base safely in 15 of his 20 plate appearances. With three doubles and three home runs, the junior slugged 1.467 and had an on-base percentage of .750. The Bellingham, Wash. native recorded multiple hits in each game of the series, knocked in six runs and scored seven times.
The Warriors, now 26-2 on the season and 19-1 in CCC play, travel to Salem, Ore. to take on Corban in a four-game set starting on April 9 at 5:00pm.
