Man Gets 5 Year Prison Sentence for Video Voyeurism Charge in Nez Perce County

LEWISTON – A 55-year-old man, who had been charged with six felonies after he was accused of coercing a woman to have sex with him in order for him to return her stolen wallet, was sentenced Thursday on a single charge of felony video voyeurism. The five other felonies were dismissed as part of a plea deal.

In Nez Perce County District Court on Thursday, Jerry Huddleston was sentenced to 5 years in prison.  He will be eligible for parole after 4 years.  He was given credit for time served of 109 days.

According to court documents, a detective with the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office responded to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center on November 30, 2023, after the woman reported that she was raped earlier in the day.

The woman reported that Huddleston, a former acquaintance, had showed up at her house unannounced and let himself in. She asked him to leave and he complied. She soon realized her wallet was missing, according to the documents.

The woman told police she contacted Huddleston about the wallet and he allegedly told her she needed to meet him off of US95, past the Clearwater River Casino. The court documents say the woman told police she went to the location. Huddleston was accused of telling the woman that she could get the wallet back by dropping telephonic harassment charges stemming from a complaint just days earlier. Huddleston was also accused of telling the woman that she would get her wallet back if she had sex with him.

The woman reported that she was then sexually assaulted by Huddleston. In a later phone call, recorded by detectives, Huddleston allegedly told the victim “I didn’t mean for that s*** to happen, it got out of hand.”

On December 4, Huddleston allegedly showed up again at the woman’s residence and she called 911. Police arrived and arrested Huddleston. The victim also told police that he had sent an explicit image of her to another person.

Huddleston had been charged with rape, two counts of forcible penetration by use of a foreign object, grand theft, intimidating a witness and video voyeurism. All six counts were felonies.
