COLFAX - Whitman County Deputies say they received several tips from the community over the last couple weeks which assisted in identifying two suspects in the theft and use of credit cards which occurred on July 6 in Lewiston and Colfax.
On July 6 between the hours of 12:30 and 2:30pm, a vehicle was broken into at the Sportsman's Warehouse in Lewiston, and a purse containing multiple credits cards was stolen.
The stolen credit cards were used at Ace Hardware in Colfax at approximately 3:15pm the same day to purchase $350.00 worth of merchandise. One of the suspects was also observed on security cameras stealing a power tool as well when the cashiers were assisting other shoppers.
The two suspects then went to Rosauers in Colfax and attempted to use the stolen credit card to purchase items but the card was declined.
On Tuesday, July 21, thanks to tips from the community, Deputies located and arrested 26-year-old Spokane resident, Tyler J. Green, without incident in Spokane WA. Green was booked into the Whitman County Jail on Identity Theft 2nd degree, Attempted Identity Theft 2nd degree, Theft Third degree.
A second suspect was identified as, Kelby Krause, a 30-year-old Spokane resident. Krause has not been located at this time and charges will be requested from the Whitman County Prosecutors Office for Identity Theft 2nd degree, Attempted Identity Theft 2nd degree, Theft Third degree.
