CLARKSTON, WA - Authorities are looking for a suspect who led police on a high speed chase that began in Colton early Tuesday afternoon. The Colton Town Marshal tried to stop a vehicle around noon, when the driver reportedly fled west of town.
According to the Whitman County Sheriff's Office, the driver of the Subaru Forester led the Marshal on a car chase down Steptoe Canyon Road, toward the Snake River. Whitman County Sheriff's Deputies joined the chase and the driver headed west on Wawawai Road toward Clarkston. Whitman County Deputies ended their chase neat the Port of Wilma.
Law enforcement officers in Asotin County were eventually able to locate the vehicle in Clarkston, but the driver had already fled the scene. The car turned out to be stolen. Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers says they are pursuing one suspect in the case.
