OAKESDALE - On the evening of Saturday May 16, deputies from the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office responded to a possible drug overdose in the Tekoa, WA area. After paramedics treated and released the victim, deputies obtained information about ongoing drug activity at a residence in Oakesdale.
Deputies responded to the residence in Oakesdale and contacted a male who was also suffering from an apparent drug overdose. The male was subsequently transported to Whitman Community Hospital for treatment. While deputies were on scene they believed that others in the residence had either used or were in possession of illegal narcotics, to include methamphetamine and heroin.
Based on that information, deputies applied for and were granted a search warrant for the residence. During the search of the residence, deputies located methamphetamine, heroin and drug paraphernalia.
Due to the extent of the drug use in the home and concerns over the safety of those involved, deputies arrested all 7 adults that were at the residence at that time. 51-year-old Robert McBride, 49-year-old Ginnifer Murray, 49-year-old Amy Baird, 28-year-old Ashley McBride, 58-year-old Ruth Lahoe, 24-year-old Samantha Peterson and 26-year-old Keenen Keller were all booked into the Whitman County Jail on a variety of narcotics related charges.
Deputies believe both of the earlier drug overdoses were related to narcotics used at the Oakesdale location.
