UNIONTOWN - On Sunday, May 31, A 23-year-old Lewiston man was arrested for allegedly leading a Whitman County Sheriff’s Deputy on a high-speed car chase.

The pursuit began on Sunday afternoon around 5:00 p.m., when Whitman County Deputy Tyler Langerveld tried to pull over the driver of a pickup for speeding through Uniontown at about 60 MPH.  The driver of the pickup allegedly failed to stop and led the deputy South on U.S. Highway 195 at speeds of around 100 MPH. The driver, later identified as 23-year-old Tyler Pedersen, eventually stopped near the state line.

Pedersen was then arrested for felony eluding and driving with a suspended license.
