LEWISTON – The City of Lewiston is making significant progress with the establishment of a comprehensive storm-water drainage system utility. This robust program will include associated service fees and is designed to enhance public health, safety, and water quality for the community. The utility will function in a manner similar to the city’s existing wastewater, water, and sanitation programs, and customers will see a separate service fee on their utility bill for this, effective January 1, 2024. Additionally, this initiative and the related service fees align with mandatory federal requirements placed on all entities that are responsible for managing a storm-water drainage system.
