LEWISTON – Lewiston School District officials say Educational Support Personnel, or ESP, are critical to the ultimate success of student learning. ESP are not certified teachers, but are staff members who provide an important and necessary support function toward the education of students.
“Our Educational Support Personnel (ESP) fulfill many different roles within the District. Each of these roles, including our IT Specialists, librarians, building and district administrative support staff, crossing guards, food service staff, duty assistants and transportation personnel all serve to facilitate the district’s mission of “Ensuring High Levels of Learning for ALL Students!”
“Don’t miss your chance to nominate that exceptional employee who provides critical support to our educational services and recognize them for their outstanding performance! That person may be the custodian who works tirelessly to ensure a clean and safe working environment, the maintenance worker who goes above and beyond to expertly maintain our facilities and grounds; the instructional assistant or intervention tutor who helps kids get excited about learning and to see their potential; or the administrative support staff who has a positive outlook and rapport with students and staff.”
The Lewiston School District is asking fellow staff members, school district employees, parents, students and the general public to complete and return a nomination form for this year’s ESP of the Year award winner.
