LEWISTON – Lewiston Police Officers are stepping up patrols to enforce impaired driving laws.
Law enforcement agencies across the state are partnering with the Office of Highway Safety in an effort to reduce the number of impaired drivers, and to promote safe, sober driving through high visibility enforcement this holiday season. The Lewiston Police Department will be participating in a statewide Impaired Driver Mobilization starting December 13, 2023 and going through January 1, 2024.
The LPD says those who choose to drink should plan ahead and designate a sober driver, or take public transportation.
With an increase in traffic during this holiday season, and the potential for slick, icy roads, the Lewiston Police Department is also reminding drivers to slow down, obey traffic signals and signs, and give more distance between you and other vehicles.
