SPOKANE – Early last week, the Shoshone County Drug Task Force led by the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant in Wallace Idaho, where they had reason to believe drugs were being mailed to and then distributed to the community.
During the search warrant, three suspects were arrested for a variety of felony charges ranging from felony possession to trafficking a controlled substance. Methamphetamine, Cocaine, mushrooms, and marijuana were located in the residence.
Two handguns were also seized that were believed to be there for the purpose of protecting the sale of controlled substances. The Sheriff’s Office is grateful for the assistance from the Pinehurst Police Department and the US Postal Service. We are focusing on drugs and contraband being mailed into our communities from the western states.
On November 20th the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office led the Shoshone County Drug Task in a search warrant of a residence near Pinehurst with the Pinehurst Police Department. The local Tac Medical unit assisted as well.
During the search warrant approximately 18 firearms were located in the residence in possession of a gang member. A small cannon was located as well. Tools were located for creating ghost guns and some of the firearms were fully automatic. Thousands of rounds of brass/ammunition were located in the residence along with some fentanyl and methamphetamine. Evidence suggested firearms had been fired out of the residence towards other houses in the community.
This was an extremely dangerous search warrant and we grateful to everyone involved. The Sheriff’s Office is pro second amendment but has no tolerance for firearms being possessed by felons and gang members who can’t legally possess them. These weapons commonly are shipped into inner cities to assist gangs in their criminal activities. This is the largest gun seizure we are aware of for the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office. Sureno Gang member was living in the residence.
