GRANGEVILLE, ID - Idaho State Police are still investigating a Friday morning crash on State Highway 13, six miles north of Grangeville. A 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 58-year-old Kimberly A. Byrnes, of Calgary, Alberta, was northbound with a group of motorcyclists when a line of cars had stopped in the northbound lane to wait for a vehicle turning left across traffic. Byrnes failed to stop and swerved to avoid the stopped traffic. However, she sideswiped a 2010 GMC Yukon driven by 37-year-old Melanie C. Maltese, of Eagle. Byrnes' motorcycle bounced off the Yukon and struck the driver side of a 2018 Chev Tahoe pulling a camper trailer driven by 56-year-old William N. Pierce, of Kooskia, which was traveling southbound. Byrnes was transported to Syringa Hospital. The highway was blocked for three hours while ISP conducted their initial investigation and cleared the scene.
