LEWISTON, ID - At about 7:40 Saturday evening, Lewiston Police and Medics were dispatched to Locomotive Park for a reported physical dispute. According to Lewiston Police, they arrived to find 29-year-old Bryan Hites, of Seattle, was bleeding from a head wound. The investigation revealed Hites had been attacked by a group of six juveniles. During the attack, the group of juveniles took Hites' wallet containing his identification along with several credit cards. Hites was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for treatment.
With the help of a friend of Hites, officers were able to track the usage of Hites' credit cards to McDonald's on 21st Street in Lewiston, and then to the Lewiston Albertsons. When LPD officers arrived at Albertsons, they found the six juveniles leaving the store with a cart full of items purchased with one of Hites' stolen cards. The juveniles still had Hites' wallet containing his identification and credit cards in their possession. Police say the two primary principals of the crime were a 14-year-old male, and a 15-year-old male, both from Lewiston. They were both were arrested and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center. Both were charged with Robbery and Fraudulent Use of a Financial Transaction Card, both are felonies. The other four juveniles were identified and released to parents and police say charges may be forthcoming.
