LEWISTON - On Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at around 4:15pm, Lewiston Police and Lewiston Fire were dispatched to a reported two vehicle head-on collision on the Levee Bypass near the corner at the Confluence.
First arriving officers found a 2002 BMW 525 on its side and a 2019 Honda Rav4 on its wheels, both on the north side of Levee Bypass in the westbound lane.
The driver of the BMW, 35-year-old Ryan Querciagrossa, of Clarkston, was pronounced dead at the scene. Lewiston Police say he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time. His passenger, 30-year-old Corey Fitzgerald, of Asotin, was transported by ambulance to SJRMC with life-threating injuries. She was wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the Toyota Rav4, 35-year-old Ryan Paris, of Clarkston, was transported by ambulance to SJRMC with injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt.
An investigation by Lewiston Police's Major Collision Investigation Team revealed the BMW had been eastbound on the Bypass when it failed to maintain its lane while negotiating the curve near the confluence. The BMW crossed the double yellow line and ran into the Toyota which was traveling westbound. Police say speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in this crash.
Levee Bypass was closed for about 4 hours for the investigation.
Any one with information about, or was a witness to this collision is asked to call the Lewiston Police Department at 208-746-0171.
