COEUR D'ALENE - Kootenai County Detectives have released the name of the drowning victim located in Lake Coeur d'Alene's Rockford Bay on Sunday, September 12. The male has been identified as 55-year-old Daniel J. Schroder, who is from the Rockford Bay area.

According to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office, the investigation revealed that alcohol may have been a factor and there is no indication of foul play. The male was not wearing a life jacket the time of the incident.

On September 12, at around 7:20 a.m., Patrol and Marine Deputies responded to Rockford Bay to look into an unoccupied boat which had floated up to a dock. Deputies responded via vehicle and vessel to investigate.

Once in the area, a dock employee of a nearby marina advised they located a male submerged in the water next to a dock. Deputies arrived, located the male and determined he was deceased.
