Rock The Rebound

LEWISTON - Beautiful Downtown Lewiston, Lewis Clark Valley Chamber of Commerce and Valley Vision represent a large number of the businesses in the Lewis-Clark Valley who are anxious to reopen. Idaho Governor Brad Little has provided Guidelines for Opening Up Idaho and getting businesses back up and running. Together they are calling it 'Rocking the Rebound'.

Rock the Rebound is a comprehensive program established by local agencies with the goal to provide information to businesses and employees in order to help them re-open safely. It’s also about providing information to customers and encouraging everyone to practice good hygiene habits and follow public health guidelines.

The groups states that the recovery of our economy will be lacking if the virus spikes as soon as we re-open. Washing hands, social distancing, wearing face masks, and sanitizing are going to be with us for a while. The City of Lewiston need businesses to plan accordingly. They also need residents to know businesses are taking the proper safety steps. Residents will be the employees and customers that will kick start the rebound. The city wants everyone to trust that local stores, bars and restaurants are doing the right things to keep everyone safe.

Through this program, there will be a series of educational videos that will explain procedures for stores to socially distance; procedures for sanitizing; and plans for managing the return to work, as well as protocols for restaurants and places of worship.

Businesses safely using the guidelines will get a poster to place in their window that identifies them as an establishment that is Rocking the Rebound.

The Rocking the Rebound team will also be out looking for people doing it right. When they see someone wearing a mask, properly distancing, and practicing other proper hygiene habits, that person may get a special reward from the team!
