ATHOL, ID - On Saturday, April 3, 2021 at approximately 11:30pm, the Idaho State Police responded to the report of a single vehicle crash on US95, near milepost 451 outside of Athol, ID.

According to a release from the ISP, 50-year-old Christopher J. Nusz, of Smelterville, ID, was driving southbound on US95 in a 2016 GMC Sierra pickup truck when the vehicle crossed over both lanes of traffic near milepost 451. The truck reportedly went through the center median and crossed over both northbound lanes before running off the shoulder, momentarily going airborne before finally coming to rest in the middle of N. Williams Ln in Kootenai County.

Mr. Nusz was trapped in the vehicle as a result of the crash and required extrication by medical personnel. Life Flight Network was launched and the Nusz was transported to Kootenai Health. Mr. Nusz was not wearing his seatbelt. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
