LEWISTON, ID - Just before 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, police and medics were called to the intersection of 16th Avenue and 15th Street in Lewiston where a vehicle that had reportedly struck a house.
According to Lewiston Police, a 2008 Acura, driven by 75-year-old Robert Bayless of Lewiston, was eastbound in the 1400 block of 16th Avenue when his vehicle left the south side of the road. Bayless drove through a wooden fence and a yard, crossed 15th Street, and then struck the house at 1502 16th Avenue before rolling his car onto its top and coming to rest.
Bayless was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center by ambulance. There were no other injuries in the collision.
The Lewiston Police Department's Major Collision Investigation Team was called to investigate. 16th Avenue was closed for about 3 hours during the investigation. Police are seeking input from any witnesses of the collision. If you were a witness, call the Lewiston Police Department.
