BILLINGS, MT - The men of number 7 ranked Lewis-Clark State Cross Country team made a statement in their final Frontier Conference Championship, blowing away the competition with 24 points. The trio of Cole Olsen, Chase Barrow and Clayton VanDyke grabbed the top three spots, respectively, as the Warriors captured five All-Frontier Conference finishes.
The Warrior men dominated the field, collecting 24 points in a landslide victory. Olsen led the men to claim the individual title with a time of 25:31. Barrow finished just behind him (25:36), and VanDyke rounded out the top three (25:43). All three earned All-Frontier Conference status.
Connor Turpin and Dillon Dawson turned in key finished to help propel the Warriors to the Conference Championship. Turpin placed eighth (26:41) and Dawson completed the top 10 (26:55). Both also earned All-Frontier Conference.
“The guys did really well today,” coach Mike Collins said. “Cole, Chase and Clayton got one, two and three. It’s pretty tough to beat a team that can do that.”
Emily Adams led the Number 19 Warrior women with an eighth-place finish. The women finished fourth overall.
Up next, the Warrior men earned the automatic bid into the NAIA Cross Country National Championships and will be heading to Vancouver, WA, for the race on November 22. The Warrior women await their fate to see if they receive an at-large berth.
