OAKLAND, Calif. – Lewis-Clark State Athletics will need to make room on their wall of Major Leaguers. Seth Brown will make his Major League debut and become the 17th Warrior to break into the big leagues on Monday night when he starts in left for the Oakland Athletics in Kansas City against the Royals.
Brown has been putting up career numbers for the Athletics’ AAA team, the Las Vegas Aviators. The Klamath Falls, Ore. native has tallied 37 home runs, 104 RBI and a .297 batting average through 112 games. He slugged .634 in the minors this season. Brown was drafted by the Athletics in the 19th round in 2015.
A Second-Team All-American with the Warriors in 2015, Brown led the NAIA in home runs with 23 while batting .386. He drove in 82 runs for LC, which ranked second nationally. He led the NAIA in total bases (183) and was third in runs scored (78).
“Congratulations to Seth and his family,” Athletic Director Brooke Henze said. “Warrior Nation is very excited for his opportunity and extremely proud.”
