***STORY UPDATE (11/26/21)***
LOWMAN, ID - On the morning of Friday, November 26, 2021, the Idaho State Police was notified of a single-vehicle rollover crash that had been discovered that morning on SH 21 in Boise County approximately four miles south of Lowman.
According to the ISP, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was traveling southbound when the vehicle, a green Dodge Ram pickup left the edge of the roadway and rolled down a steep embankment. The driver, identified as 71-year-old Michael Edward Lopez, was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced deceased on scene.
Lopez had been reported missing on November 10 after he left Missoula en route to visit family in Caldwell, Idaho.
Lopez's vehicle was located by a helicopter crew assisting the Boise County Sheriff's Office in the search after it was learned that Lopez's cellphone had pinged a nearby cellphone tower.
Next of kin has been notified.
This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

MISSOULA - The Missoula Police Department is asking for citizens help locating a missing person. 71-year-old Michael Edward Lopez. Michael was last seen on November 10 around 8:00am in Missoula before departing for Southern California to see family. He is believed to be traveling from Missoula, to Caldwell, ID, through Salmon/Challis/Stanley. His phone was last pinged in Challis around noon on the 10th.
Michael is a white male approximately 5'10" tall and 210 pounds with brown eyes and balding grey hair. He is traveling in a Green 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 with topper MT license plate 771170B.
If you live in any of the above listed areas and have seen Michael or his vehicle, please contact your local police department or 911 right away. Anyone with cameras facing the highway along that route is asked to check them for a vehicle matching the description that may have passed by.
