The Clearwater County Sheriff's Office responded to a single vehicle crash at about 10:00 p.m. Saturday night. Orofino Ambulance and Rescue 3 were also called to the scene, in the area of Crow Bench Road, southeast of Orofino.
Following the initial investigation, the Clearwater County Sheriff's Office says it was determined the vehicle, a 2021 Ford F150, rolled off the top of Crow Bench Road and down the embankment, almost reaching Berry Drive.
53-year-old John Balthrop, of Arizona, allegedly stepped out of the vehicle before it rolled over the bank, while his wife, La Rinda Balthrop, was still in the passenger's seat.
La Rinda was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported by ambulance to Clearwater Valley Hospital with serious injuries. John sustained minor injuries, while trying to stop the vehicle.
John Balthrop was charged with Driving Under the Influence.
