KAMIAH, ID - After a vehicle was spotted in the river along US12 at milepost 71 on Saturday, the Idaho County Sheriff's Office dive team arrived at about 2:00 p.m. and confirmed it was the 1994 Toyota Corolla driven by Connie Williams when she left the roadway and went into the Clearwater River on June 6. The team also confirmed that a deceased female occupant of the vehicle was Williams, by her tattoos. Williams and the vehicle have both been recovered from the river. Police say Williams was not wearing a seatbelt.

On the date of the crash, the vehicle was briefly seen and identified before it was fully submerged. Life Flight and multiple boats were deployed to search the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle or victim at the time.
