IDAHO FALLS - On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, a Trooper with the Idaho State Police arrested a woman following a traffic stop where a drug detection K9 helped locate over a pound of meth and 100 pills of fentanyl.
The Trooper made the stop at 3:35 p.m. on Interstate 15 just north of Idaho Falls when he saw the driver of a Jeep speeding in the northbound lanes. A K9 unit from the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office also responded.
During an open air search around the vehicle, the K9 alerted to the possible presence of illegal drugs. During a search of the vehicle, the Trooper found the driver to be in possession of approximately 1.4 pounds of a white crystal substance that tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine, and approximately 100 pills believed to be fentanyl.
Troopers arrested the female driver, who was identified as 61-year-old Dana M. Sedrick, of Tucson, AZ and booked her into the Bonneville County Jail on the following charges:
- Trafficking Methamphetamine (F)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver - Fentanyl (F)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia (m)
