Gonzaga Moves Back Inside Top-10 of Latest AP College Basketball Rankings

SPOKANE, WA – The Gonzaga Bulldog Men’s Basketball team (25-5) is back inside the Top-10 of the latest Associated Press College Basketball rankings released Monday.

The Bulldogs moved up two spots to #10 following a pair of West Coast Conference victories last week, including a 77-68 victory over the Saint Mary’s Gaels Saturday night with the whole country watching on ESPN.

The Gonzaga faithful welcomed ESPN’s College GameDay with open arms bright and early Saturday for the GameDay morning show (7-9am). The Bulldog fans then harnessed that energy and brought it back to the McCarthey Athletic Center Saturday night to help will their Zags to another victory, their sixth straight.

The win over the Gaels also avenged a loss from earlier this season and earned Gonzaga at least a share of the WCC regular season title.

Since losing to Saint Mary’s on the road back on February 4, Gonzaga has run rough shot through their other WCC foes, now winning six straight, with the closest contest being a 7-point victory over BYU (88-81).

The win streak has helped propel the Bulldogs back inside the Top 10 of the latest AP College Basketball rankings, a spot they have not been since mid-January. Meanwhile the Gaels of Saint Mary’s dropped two spots to #17.
