COLFAX – Tessa Scholl, Senior Deputy Prosecutor with the Whitman County Prosecutor’s Office announced today that Davis Eneas was sentenced to Rape in the Second Degree.
Mr. Eneas sought a Special Sex Offender Sentencing Alternative (SSOSA) which would have allowed him to be released into the community after spending up to 365 days in the county jail and would require sex offender treatment for up to five years. Scholl, Jane Doe, and Jane Doe’s mother all objected to the granting of a SSOSA and Judge Palubicki agreed.
Mr. Eneas was sentenced to life in prison with the earliest possible release date after 90 months. The Indeterminate Sentencing Review Board will determine when or if Mr. Eneas should be released. Mr. Eneas will have to register as a sex offender indefinitely. The range in which the judge could’ve sentenced him to the determinate portion of his sentence was limited
to 78-102 months pursuant to the Washington State Adult Sentencing Guidelines. Mr. Eneas will have to register as a sex offender indefinitely, a lifetime Sexual Assault Protection Order is in place for Jane Doe.
“Jane Doe and her mother supported this resolution to the case and feel that justice has been served and they can now both move on with their lives and heal.” Scholl said. “I would like to thank the Pullman Police Department for their hard work in this case and their dedication to serving the most vulnerable in our community.”
