WALLOWA COUNTY, OR – An Asotin woman died after a UTV crash in northeast Oregon on Sunday.
According to the Wallowa County Sheriff’s Office, at about 2:30 p.m. on October 15, 2023, three couples were riding in three separate UTVs off Cherry Creek in Northeastern Wallowa County.
The trail under the lead UTV gave way causing that vehicle to roll downhill. The husband, 73-year-old John Benson and 60-year-old Vicki Benson, both of Asotin, were both injured.
Life Flight arrived and attempted lifesaving efforts, but Vicki succumbed to her injuries and passed away. The husband was flown to Wallowa Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.
